威廉P号. 迪安纪念基金 支持 undergraduate initiatives and projects that collaborate with a community nonprofit to address 的 needs of marginalized populations.

Any student-initiated project that works with a community nonprofit partner to address a social need will be eligible. Applicants should be actively engaged in community-based work in 的 local Colorado Springs community or in 的 student's home community.

Proposed projects will be evaluated according to following dimensions:

  1. 强度 of 的ir community impact;
  2. extent to which 的 project is co-created with community members and organizations;
  3. extent to which 的 project 支持 a reciprocal partnership;
  4. sustainability of 的 project;
  5. extent to which 的 funding is needed and impactful; and
  6. opportunities for student development and growth.

  • All grant decisions will be made collectively by 的 CCE staff.
  • The CCE will support and advise funded projects, and students will be expected to check in with 的 CCE to share progress (or monthly for projects that occur over 的 summer). These check-ins will be used to troubleshoot any issues as well as to share updates on 的 project so that 的 CCE can 提供 报告 to 威廉·P家族. 迪安.
  • If over 的 course of 的 project 的 student would like to 大幅 改变 的 use of funds from 的 proposed budget, 的 student must formally request budget revisions in writing. Any revisions must be approved by 的 CCE Director.
  • The collaborative non-profit agency must be recognized by 的 Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under section 501c(3) and 提供 a valid employer identification number or qualify as an instrument of a state or local government under IRS Code section 170c(1).
  • 学生 are eligible for one grant per academic year.
  • 拨款前pire one calendar year from 的 date of 的 award.

Awards are funded up to $1,000 and total budget for 的 year is $3,000.

关于William 迪安:

William 迪安 was born June 29, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from high school in 1969, and attended 科罗拉多大学 from 1969 to 1973, graduating in 1973 with a B.A. 在人类学. His natural curiosity with 的 history, 信仰, and cultures of indigenous peoples was enriched by 的 course of study he engaged in while at 科罗拉多大学. The academic and practical experiences William had during his four years at CC resulted in him developing an appreciation for working with people from diverse backgrounds and a passion for engaging in issues of social justice.
